Mrs. Cydni
Director/Choreographer
- Mrs. Cydni is on the professional board of directors for the Twin City Ballet Company in Monroe La. She has attended various dance conventions around the U.S. She has studied under renowned dance professional such as Lea Darwin, Joe Tremaine, Art Stone and Gus Giordana to name a few. Mrs. Cydni continues to travel to dance workshops and conventions with her students so that they can have the opportunity to train under the dance professional of today.
Miss Lauren. Teacher/ Choreographer
Lauren began her training with Mrs Cydni at the age of 3. Throughout the years she has trained with some of the nations leading dance professionals around the U.S. She began her intensive training at the age of 12 when she joined the Twin City Ballet Company And was an apprentice and later a soloist and Artist in Residence. Lauren has received scholarships to the Joffrey Ballet School, North Carolina School of the Arts, and American Ballet Theatre. She also studied with the International Ballet Competition, The Milwaukee Ballet School and danced professionally with the City of of San Diego Ballet. Lauren is also a certified instructor in The Progressing Ball Technique. CSD is so fortunate to have Miss Lauren on our staff.
Mrs. Kelli Weems/ Gymnastics Teacher
Maddy Whitehead
Maddy has been dancing at CSD for 15 years and on the CSD Competition Team for 11 years. She has won various awards and scholarships at dance conventions and competition. She has studied Ballet, Tap, Jazz Pointe, Hip Hop, Lyrical, Contemporary and Musical Theatre. Maddy is the teacher for our CSD Junior Competition Team. She is also the Co Captain for her dance line at Glenbrook High School. She has received All American Dancer at UDA Camp and UDA Outstanding Dancer. Outside of dance she maintains a 4.0 GPA and in National Honor Society And placed 1st in the District and State Literary rallies She is active in her church youth group.
Becca Balkom
Becca has been dancing for 13 years and on the CSD Competition Team for 8 years. She has studied Ballet, Tap, Pointe, Tap, Jazz, HipHop, Lyrical, Contemporary, and Musical Theatre. She has attended numerous dance conventions and competitions winning various awards and scholarships. She is currently the lieutenant for the MHS Louisi Anne’s dance line. She received the All American Dancer award at the UDA camp Becca enjoys spending time with her church youth group And friends and family. She desires to be a dance instructor one day and own her own business. Helping teach dance makes her feel like she has an impact on the young dancers.
Ava Martin
Ava has been dancing for 12 years and is currently in her 7th year of dancing at CSD. She has been a part of the CSD Competition Team for 4 years and has won various awards such as full scholarships from dance competitions such as Dupree, West Coast Dance Explosion, The Streetz, and was also 3rd runner up to Miss Teen Triumph National Talent, and was invited to their National Competition. Ava just completed 3 years of being a Webster junior high Pepstepper and 2 of those years she served as captain. Ava loves to assist at CSD because she loves to share her love for dance with others and help them express themselves through dance.
Sophie Spillers
Sophie has been dancing for 13 years and on the CSD Competition Team for 3 years. She received the 2021-22 CSD Most Improved Dancer Award. She has studied Ballet,Tap, Pointe , Jazz, HipHop, Lyrical, Contemporary and musical theatre and has attended numerous dance conventions and competitions. She is involved in various clubs and activities. She is also a member of the Sundancers Dance Line at Glenbrook High School in Minden. Sophie loves to assist at CSD because she loves sharing her passion and love for dance with her littles at CSD. Seeing their smiling faces and hearing their giggles is so much fun!
